01

Who is responsible

This Privacy Policy explains how Edgemobility (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you visit this online store, place an order or contact us. The controller responsible for processing within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Edgemobility

Contact: our contact page

We are not legally required to appoint a data protection officer. For any privacy question or request, contact us at the details above.

02

The short version

  • We only collect the data we need to run the store, deliver your order and answer your questions.
  • We do not sell your data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
  • Because our products are shipped directly by our suppliers (dropshipping), we pass your name, delivery address and, where needed, phone number to the supplier handling your order. Some suppliers are located outside the EU. Section 6 explains this in detail.
  • There are no customer accounts. You check out as a guest and we do not create a profile of you.
  • Visitor statistics are only collected if you agree to them in the cookie banner.

03

Visiting the store

When you open any page, your browser automatically sends technical information to the servers that host this store: your IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, browser type and version, and operating system. This is required to display the store, keep it secure and detect misuse. These server logs are deleted or anonymised after a short period, normally within 30 days, unless a specific security incident requires us to keep them longer.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in a secure, working store).

04

Cookies, local storage and statistics

We keep the use of cookies and similar technologies to a minimum:

  • Strictly necessary: your browser stores a shopping cart ID so your cart is kept while you shop, and a cookie that remembers your cookie choice for up to 12 months. These are needed for the service you request and do not require consent (§ 25(2) TDDDG; Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
  • Statistics (only with your consent): if you accept statistics in the cookie banner, we measure anonymous-style usage such as page views, visit duration, and add-to-cart and checkout steps, to understand which pages work and improve the store. This is processed through our store platform; it is not shared with advertising networks (§ 25(1) TDDDG; Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time using Manage cookies in the footer of every page. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before it.

05

Placing an order

To process your order we collect your email address, name, delivery and billing address, the products ordered, the price, and optionally a phone number. We use this to conclude and carry out the contract, send order and shipping updates, process withdrawals, returns and warranty claims, and meet our accounting and tax obligations.

Providing this data is necessary to conclude the contract. Without it we cannot accept or deliver your order.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract) and Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligations under commercial and tax law).

06

Suppliers and international transfers (dropshipping)

We want to be fully transparent here. Edgemobility does not hold products in its own warehouse. When you order, we forward the details needed for delivery to the supplier or manufacturer of that product, who packs and ships it directly to you. The data shared is limited to:

  • your name and delivery address,
  • your phone number, where the carrier requires it for delivery or customs,
  • the products and quantities ordered and an order reference.

We do not share your payment details, your email address (unless a carrier needs it for delivery notifications) or your order history with suppliers. Suppliers may use the data only to fulfil your order.

Some of our suppliers and their warehouses are located outside the European Union, including in countries such as China, for which the European Commission has not issued an adequacy decision. This means the level of data protection there may be lower than in the EU, and authorities there may have broader access to data. The transfer is necessary to deliver the product you ordered (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR). Where possible, we additionally rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). You can ask us which supplier ships your order and request a copy of any safeguards in place.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the contract).

07

Shipping carriers

Your delivery data is passed to the carrier chosen by us or our supplier (for example DHL, DPD, GLS, UPS, national postal services or international logistics partners) so the parcel can be delivered and tracked. For shipments from outside the EU, customs authorities may also receive the data required for import clearance.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract) and Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (customs obligations).

08

Payment

Payments are processed by an external payment provider, such as Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Dublin, Ireland, or another provider shown at checkout. Your card or payment details are entered directly with the provider and never reach us. We only receive confirmation of the payment, the amount and limited reference data. The payment provider may carry out fraud checks and is itself responsible for some of this processing; its own privacy policy applies.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract), Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (anti-money-laundering obligations of the provider) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (fraud prevention).

09

Contacting us

When you write to us by email or through the contact form, we process your name, email address, the topic and your message to answer your request. We delete this data once the request is fully resolved, unless it relates to an order or legal retention obligations apply.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to an order or a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our interest in answering enquiries).

10

Newsletter

If you sign up for our newsletter, we use your email address to send you news about products and offers. We only send it once you have confirmed your sign-up through the link in a confirmation email (double opt-in), and we record the time of sign-up and confirmation as proof. You can unsubscribe at any time through the link in every email or by contacting us.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

11

Product reviews

Reviews shown on product pages display only the name or initials and the content the reviewer chose to publish. If you submit a review, it is published with the name you provide. You can ask us to remove your review at any time.

12

Service providers

We use carefully selected service providers who process data on our behalf and under our instructions (Art. 28 GDPR), in particular:

  • our e-commerce platform and its hosting and infrastructure providers, which run this store, the cart and checkout,
  • email delivery providers for order confirmations and shipping updates,
  • IT and security service providers.

Some of these providers may process data in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (where the provider is certified) or on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

13

How long we keep data

We store personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected for:

  • Order and invoice data: for the periods required by German commercial and tax law, generally 6 to 8 years for business correspondence and accounting records (§ 257 HGB, § 147 AO).
  • Data needed for warranty or legal claims: until the relevant limitation period has expired, usually 2 to 3 years after delivery.
  • Contact requests: until the request is resolved, unless retention duties apply.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe; proof of consent is kept for up to 3 years after that.

Once these periods end, the data is deleted or anonymised.

14

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15),
  • have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16),
  • have your data deleted, where no legal obligation requires us to keep it (Art. 17),
  • have processing restricted (Art. 18),
  • receive your data in a common, machine-readable format (Art. 20),
  • withdraw any consent you gave, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)).

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)

Where we process your data based on our legitimate interests, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may object to the use of your data for direct marketing at any time, without giving reasons.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at our contact page. To protect your data we may ask you to confirm your identity, for example with an order number.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live or work, or where we are established.

15

No automated decisions

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects on you (Art. 22 GDPR). Fraud checks carried out by payment providers are their own responsibility.

16

Security

This store is served only over an encrypted connection (TLS/HTTPS). We and our service providers use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will inform you and the authorities of a data breach where the law requires it.

17

Children

Our store is aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

18

Changes to this policy

We update this Privacy Policy when our store, our service providers or the law changes. The version published on this page at the time of your visit applies. The date at the top shows the latest update.
